    • Freedom Park, Princeton Ave

Looking to burn off those Thanksgiving calories? Looking to get as far away from the shopping malls as possible? Join us on Black Friday Nov 24 7am- 7pm in Freedom Park (Princeton Ave)......

For 12 hours we will be running to raise money for Girls on the Run and Let Me Run. Both of these tremendous organizations teach character lessons and healthy lifestyles to young boys and girls through running.

    Register by going to:

    https://12hrrun4youth.racesonline.com

Run solo or run as a team and see how many miles you can put together.

Using the same website and the Donate Button you can ask your friends, family, neighbors, to sponsor you and help you raise money for these great causes.

We will be giving awards for top mileage for individuals and teams.

You do not have to physically be at the event to be a part of it. You can run it by yourself, or as a team, anywhere in the world, as we know many of our supporters are traveling over the holiday weekend.

Our run will begin in Freedom Park. We will have a 4 mile route that will start and end on the shelter near Princeton Avenue.

Everyone is invited to run and help us raise money. Come and go as you please. All we ask is you share your run and people to donate toward our cause.

Special Thanks to Start 2 Finish will be providing FREE T shirts to everyone participating.

We’ll have food and drinks provided throughout the day.

Love to run? Love to read? Do both!

Love to run? Love to read? Do both! Join fellow Charlotte Run Club members in the fifth meeting of our Running Book Club. Every other month we read a different book focused around running then meet for an (optional) run followed by a discussion of the book over food and beverage. Join the Running Book Club facebook group for discussion in between meets: https://www.facebook.com/groups/CRCRunningBookClub/

For January our book will be “Run The World: My 3,500-Mile Journey Through Running Cultures Around the Globe” a book by Becky Wade which explores 9 different cultures and their running styles and philosophies. This book is available on Amazon in all (including audio) formats. https://www.amazon.com/Run-World-500-Mile-Journey-Cultures/dp/006241643X

We will take it back to where book club started in the growing town of Matthews, just 20 minutes from uptown. Temple Mojo is right off the beautiful Matthews 4 Mile Creek Greenway where you can get an optional run in before and then enjoy Coffee, Beer, Cider, and snacks after.

The 5 mile Route is here, but you can cut it in half by turning around at squirrel lake park: https://www.strava.com/routes/11129706

Meet in front of Temple Mojo at 2 if you want to run and we will run from there to the 4 Mile Creek Greenway. After the run we will all meet back at Mojo by 3 for the discussion. I will provide a few small appetizers as usual courtesy of the Charlotte Running Club (and you can get yourself drinks).
